Emile Hirsch playing Christoper McCandless…
Seems like, well, what I’ve gathered from, you know, from reading the book. The movie made him into almost exactly what he did not want to have any part of. What he seemed to run away from in the first place is now the basis for this following of ‘Chris McCandless fans’. But that’s cool I guess. Emile Hirsch is such a rebel without anything tying him down. Not even the fact that he was playing a real person. Hollywood, nah, reading, nah, Kristen Stew, nah. He’s above that.
Sean Penn please stick to acting and not writing scripts. So the next time another book comes out about a young person who dies of starvation isolated in a forest we won’t have to encounter more tragedy with a pathetic and insensitive attempt to capture what he went through on screen by some confused twenty-four year old. If they took the time to read through the book to attempt knowing this Christoper McCandless it would of been understood that a film about his life (or something) would be in bad taste.
